I spend a lot of time reflecting about life and how it’s going. Am I making progress? Am I distancing myself from God? Am I distracted, and what can I do about it?
I’m on social media a lot these days…To take advantage of my time I’ve just been writing, tweeting, and posting what’s been going on in my life in order to document events and ideas. I’m pretty excited about what God is doing in my life and I love sharing it with family, friends, and acquaintances.
My contract for SIT as a Residence Advisor runs from August 2016-August 2017. I don’t know if I’ll graduate the summer of 2017. I don’t know where I’ll be after my contract is over. I don’t know when I’ll finish my thesis. There are a lot of things I don’t know but that’s the exciting part. The story of my life in my 20s is unpredictable and it’s being written every single moment of the day.
I post a lot on Facebook and Instagram, but another platform I have is Twitter. I don’t share this part of social media much but I have been tweeting quite a lot often. I find more privacy with Twitter as a platform, and I honestly feel like I can express my quite crazy ideas here more freely.
In 2020 I can look back to this tweet saying “In 2020 I will be 27, well on my way to become a teacher educator,” and see how much my life has transformed then. I know that this may look like a 3 year plan… And from a 23 year old’s thoughts, this is what’s going to happen. When I was 18 I used to write all over sticky notes that I was going to work for a publishing company once I graduated college and it actually happened. Let’s see what life and God has in store for me in 2020!
What about you? Do you document your thoughts on social media? Do you constantly document your progress in life? Why or why not?
